6 years worth of memories later we’ve backpacked through India, renovated our dream home, and introduced 2 furry pups to our family. A few months ago Harry finally popped the question over coffee and croissants, back at our favorite cafe where it all began, and Sally said yes. We can’t wait for this exciting new chapter to begin!

As a wedding photographer, I have had the opportunity to capture some of the most beautiful and unforgettable moments in people's lives. Behind the lens, I witness and capture the tears, the laughter, and the memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. But, being a wedding photographer is not just about clicking a button and capturing the moment. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes, and it's essential to understand what goes into a day in the life of a wedding photographer.

Early Start to the Day The day of the wedding starts early, and the wedding photographer's day starts even earlier. On the day of the wedding, I make sure to wake up early and have a hearty breakfast to fuel me for the day ahead. I make sure that I have all the necessary equipment, including cameras, lenses, batteries, and memory cards, packed and ready to go.

The Reception Once the ceremony is over, it's time for the reception. Here, the wedding photographer's job is to capture the candid moments, including the speeches, the first dance, and the cutting of the cake. I make sure that I capture the fun and the joy of the event, ensuring that the couple has a beautiful record of their big day.

Post-Production Once the event is over, the work of the wedding photographer is far from over. The post-production process is equally crucial, as it's where I get to bring the photographs to life. I sort through the thousands of pictures, selecting the best ones to present to the couple. I then edit the pictures, correcting any flaws, and making sure that the images are of the highest quality.

Pre-Wedding Preparation Before the wedding ceremony begins, I reach the venue early to get a feel for the surroundings. I take time to scout the location, looking for the perfect spots to capture the couple's portraits and the family pictures. I also make sure to introduce myself to the wedding planner, the couple, and the bridal party. This way, everyone feels comfortable around me, and I can capture the day's emotions and moments effortlessly.

The Ceremony As the wedding photographer, my main job is to capture every moment of the ceremony. From the bride walking down the aisle to the first kiss, every moment is special, and I ensure that I capture every detail of the event. During the ceremony, I move around discreetly, ensuring that I don't disturb the proceedings while capturing everything as it happens.

Being a wedding photographer is a challenging yet rewarding job. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and patience to capture every moment of the day perfectly. It's essential to be well-prepared, both physically and mentally, to ensure that you can do your job to the best of your ability. At the end of the day, knowing that you have created memories that the couple will cherish for a lifetime is what makes it all worthwhile.
